Steps
- Open the router admin page (usually 192.168.1.1 or the address on the sticker) and log in.
- WLAN/Wi-Fi settings: set SSID, then the pre-shared key - WPA2-PSK (AES) minimum, WPA3 if all devices support it.
- Change the router login password too; the printed default is public knowledge.
- Save and reboot; reconnect phones and IoT items with the new key.
- For smart-home gadgets that only speak 2.4 GHz, keep a separate 2.4 SSID so they survive future changes.
